Claude Riffault La Noue Sancerre Rose 2015
Noon, 30 degrees and a freshly prepared fish on the terrace - which is the perfect stage for the rosé "La Noue". Elegant salmon shimmer in the glass. He unfolds a bouquet with fresh notes of flowers, strawberries and fine mint. On the palate its freshness like a noble cherry note and fine fruit sweetness.
Sancerre has suffered through many hard times since the Middle Ages - sieges, conquests and in 1898 the devastating attack of phylloxera. The luck came in the sixties, the world discovered the Sauvignon Blanc from the steep slopes of the city on the hill. The demand did not always have a good influence on the quality of provision. But meanwhile there are in and around Sancerre several wineries, whose wines exploit the full potential of Vine and Terroir. One of the most struck us, is Stéphane Riffault of the Domaine Claude Riffault. For over 5 generations, the winery is family owned and includes 13.5 hectares of vineyards, of which 10 with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir with 3.5.
