Chateau Tertre Daugay Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe 1998
80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Chateau Tetre Daugay is situated on a high promontory that forms the edge of a plateau in Saint-Emilion and enjoys majestic views, extending out of sight to the next village and the Dordogne valley. Since 1978, the Count of Malet Roquefort has tended to Chateau Tertre Daughay and its vines, which have existed for more than 19 centuries. Its vineyard covers 39.5 acres with an average vine-age of 25 years and its soil is mainly distributed on calcareous-clay hills and limestone plateaus. Combining modernity and tradition, vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks with gentle extraction of the material before fermentation in new-oak barrels.
