Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Shiraz 2014
Syrah (Shiraz) | Australia
Grand Barossa Shiraz epitomizes the premium, international reputation for Shiraz which has made the Barossa Valley famous. Lifted aromas of blackberry, plum, and black pepper are accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate.
Chateau Tanunda, Australia's oldest and grandest chateau and the "Icon of the Barossa," is located at the site of the very first vines planted in the Barossa in 1845. The majestic building (built later in 1890) and its prime vineyards are privately owned by the Geber family who continue a century-old tradition of fine winemaking. Their house style is classic and refined, combining both traditional and winemaking techniques to make superb handcrafted wines of complexity and intensity.
