Chateau de la Cour Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2005
Crisp and bright color. Notes of fresh fruits evolve towards more spicy aromas. Full and fruity with a well-balanced structure, leaving us with a discreet woody finish.
85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Chateau de la Cour is an attractive, little 22-acre estate, recently restored and situated in the lower part of Saint-Emilion in Vignonet. Hugues Delacour originally came from Picardy and arrived at the estate in 1994 at the age of 23, having studied in Bordeaux and the Cotes du Rhone. Through his talent and his love of vines, he was able to transform the old vineyard, then called Chateau La Rouchonne, into a prestigious estate under the new name of Chateau de la Cour. The name was chosen to honor the knight named "de la Cour," a landowner and family ancestor who served King Charles IX.
