A wine for all seasons, this range has always been made at Chateau de Gaudou. Through generations of experience, this wine has been able to achieve its full potential while not forgetting the lessons of history.
The Chateau de Gaudou, with massive limestone walls, pierced by large windows and flanked by "pigeonniers" towers, as is the Quercy tradition, crowns a hill where shady trees and rows of vines vie for the clay soil. In the modern world, where the son rarely follows his fathers occupation, one is aware that among the vines the continuation of families defies the passage time as is the case in my family. The repeated cycle of the seasons, the "vendanges" which occur while autumn shrouds the hills in mist, conspire to elevate the vigneron that I am from the ephemeral, the insignificant and from passing whims. I have the heart to live in my own time and produce a wine that belongs to it. This is the paradox of Gaudou. My wine, whose roots are buried in this stony soil, beneath gnarled oaks, peopled by men and women with long memories, knows nevertheless how to raise the tenure of an evening or shine during a fete. In this way I offer the best of two worlds, ancient and modern.
