Chateau de Carlmagnus Fronsac 2009
Blend | France
2009 Château de Carlmagnus Fronsac is a smorgasbord of aromas, including blackberries, blueberries, licorice, graphite, and incense. Full-bodied, rich, and opulent, this wine will drink well young, yet age nicely for 10-15 years.
Around 1870, the Château belonged to Mr. Bouché who attached his name to the château. Mr. Condemine was the owner from approximately 1910 until 1953, when Mr. Ernest Roux took over the property. The 2003 vintage was the 50th and the second to last one under the supervision of the Roux family. The vineyards rests total on 16 hectares of limestone caves from which rectangular stones have been sculpted and taken to build the city of Bordeaux.
