Chateau Bellevue Laffont 2014

Made with 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. A delicious, medium-bodied red wine with pleasant ripe-fruit aromas. Pair with red roasted meat, poultry, or soft cheese. Chateau Bellevue Laffont will naturally fit the good times you'll share with your friends. Produced by Chateau Fourcas Dupre, where the vineyards of Chateau Bellevue Laffont have been a part of since 1973. The Fourcas vineyard existed as early as the 18th century—proof of this can be seen on maps drawn by King Louis XIV's cartographers. In 1843, Jean Baptiste Antoine Dupre, a member of the Bordeaux Appeal Court, acquired the Fourcas vineyard and in 1844 he founded Chateau Fourcas Dupre. The chateau passed through several hands before Guy Pages and Alex Laffont bought the estate in 1970, with Pages' son, Patrice, succeeding them in 1985. Chateau Fourcas Dupre is one of the few Medoc estates to have over 80% Pyrenean gravel— their 114-acre vineyard contains a surprising mixture of gravel, clay, and limestone. This unique soil gives such personality to their wines, making them one of the top Cru Bourgeois in Listrac.
