This approachable claret from the outstanding 2009 vintage is already drinking very well. A delicious Bordeaux Rouge from a family-owned estate in Villegouge. A dark color with aromas of red fruits and toasty notes with a fresh and fruity palate.
The Duffau family have been making Bordeaux at Chateau Belle Garde since 1850. The 46 acres of vines are dotted around on different parcels of land with varying soil types (clay-limestone, clay and gravel and sandy gravel). The majority of the land is situated on the south facing hillside in front of Saint-Emilion. The vines planted for claret are 80% merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Visit Website
