Produced and bottled by GP Wine Works. Winemaker Charles Fournier (1901-1984) was a pioneer of the New York State wine industry. He was instrumental in planting the state's first vinifera grape varieties in the Finger Lakes region in the 1950s, proving that world-class wines could be made there.
This Cabernet Franc is from a vineyard on the western shore of Cayuga Lake. While Charles Fournier never produced Cabernet Franc, it is in noo small part due to his vision that this beautiful grape variety thrives on the shores of the Finger Lakes and is producing some of the best red wines New York has ever seen. Medium bodied with soft tannins. The wine possesses classic raspberry and pencil-shaving notes of Cabernet Franc in the nose and on the palate it is complimented by a kiss of oak and some subtle notes of savory herbs.
