Chappellet Signature Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
This wine offers all of the color, concentration and complexity of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill. The nose displays, rich, vivid layers of dark berry, cherry, and sweet oak, underscored by background notes of bay leaf, sage, chocolate and anise. The mouthfeel is powerful, yet rounded, with a silky presence that allows the wine to gracefully support its size, and its voluptuous ripe cherry, berry and plum flavors. Spicy oak notes of cinnamon, vanilla and roasted coffee add nuance and depth, while youthful tannins give a fine grip to the palate providing the structure for long-term aging. Vinted & bottled by Chappellet Vineyard, a vineyard owned by Chappellet Winery. The Chappellet family's romance with Pritchard Hill started more than four decades ago when Donn and Molly Chappellet first glimpsed its magnificent vista of forests and wildflower-filled meadows. Inspired by the notion that Bacchus loves the hills, the Chappellets followed the advice of renowned winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff and settled on Pritchard Hill's rocky slopes, becoming the first winery to plant vineyards exclusively on high-elevation hillsides. From these Pritchard Hill vineyards, the Chappellets have been crafting extraordinary, age-worthy wines since 1967, which reflects the pioneering spirit that has shaped a magical patchwork of vineyards from Napa to Sonoma. Sourced from the Napa Valley's coolest growing region, this Chardonnay is a true reflection of the land on which it was grown. It is distinguished by a combination of bright acidity and marked minerality. Chappellet Chardonnay is bold, rich, and fruity with a core of pear, apple, and honeydew. Spicy nutmeg and hazelnut flavors unfold on the palate. Enjoy!
