Champagne Besserat de Bellefon Brut

The color is a pure, bright straw yellow with copper glints. The delicate, lingering froth forms a fine, creamy ring. Open on the nose. The first expression is of floral aromas and notes of dried flowers. The aromatic range reveals fruitier fragrances such as white peach and mirabelle plum. Notes of hazelnut and praline develop at the finish. The attack is fresh and strong, then the wine reveals its full roundness, structure, and smoothness. 35% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, 45% Pinot Meunier. Edmond Besserat founded Besserat Champagne in 1843. After Edmond, his grandsons continued to build the reputation of the house. In 1927, Edmond Besserat, a grandson of the founder, married Yvonne de Meric de Bellefon, who came from another prestigious Champagne family, and the house of Besserat de Bellefon Champagne was born. The historic Bellefon Chateau is on the world-renowned Avenue de Champagne, Epernay, in the heart of the Champagne region. Besserat de Bellefon has continued to be a leading European champagne brand for over 150 years.
