Chalk Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
Chalk Hill, established in 1972 by Fred Furth, is the only 100% estate winery in the Chalk Hill appellation of the Russian River Valley. All Chalk Hill wines are handcrafted from grapes grown exclusively on the estate. Each variety is matched to specific sites and mesoclimates; gentle winemaking practices capture the diversity of each vineyard block, resulting in wines of distinction and elegance. The rich and expansive texture of the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon, bolstered by the ripe, velvety tannins, creates a lush mouthfeel and indicates cellar worthiness.
76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc. Boasts perfumed aromas of blackcurrants, blackberry jam, with hints of lavender, mocha, and star anise.
