Hand-harvested on September 19th, the Mourvèdre grapes were foot-tread and fermented 100% whole cluster with native yeast, basket pressed, then aged in five neutral oak barrels for ten months, then bottled July 12th 2018.

Reduced on the nose it offers brightly woven raspberry and strawberry flavors rounded by sizable firm tannins and a midpalate girth that finds relief in rose petal and zesty allspice notes on the finish.
Flint and pastry crust aromatics that showcase long aging on the yeast give way to delicate ripe cherry flavors. The bubbles are soft on entry and respect the character and structure of this 76.8% Pinot Noir, 23.2% Chardonnay blend.
A gorgeous vintage. A liquorice bomb, nevertheless. Some rose and candied characteristics. Unsurprisingly grippy tannins. Good with oily tomato pesto and ravioli. After giving it some time to breath there's bold cassis and prunes to complement the slightly more toned-down liquorice.
A very tasty whisky liqueur from stalwart whisky blenders and bottlers, Gordon & Macphail. This bottling takes honey and herbs, and mixes it with Benromach single malt whisky, from Speyside. This distillery is owned by Gordon and Macphail, so they have total control over the process.
