The 2020 Yarden Merlot presents aromatic red and black fruit characters with hints of fresh herbs, orange blossom and chocolate. This full-bodied Merlot displays good concentration of flavor and an attractive lingering finish.
This châteauneuf du pape has a dark ruby red color and aromas of black fruits, oviles and spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied with flavors of blackberries, liquorice and cinnamon. A perfect accompaniment to red meat, roast turkey and cheese.
Deep red color with black-purple hues. Aromas are vibrant and focused, with the characters continually evolving. Notes of red currants and cherries and subtle lavender, then chocolate and char, hints of creme anglaise, followed by spice, earth, and rosemary.
Dark Cherry, vanilla bean, pomegranate, red licorice nose. Bright Cherry, hints of earth, mushroom, and toasty oak on palate. Soft plush body and finish. This wine is huge, expansive and profound. There are wood-smoke and tobacco fragrances alongside blackberry and dark cherry flavors. The body is full and thick however there are delicate tannins in the surface.
Until the 1980s the wines of Languedoc-Roussillon were mostly rustic, roasted, and dirt-cheap--of little interest to export markets. Smells like strawberries, raspberries and white flowers.
This wine, though possessing the characteristic suaveness of the site, does possess a trace more density than years past–likely due to the additional thinning passes we made. It was also an exceptional year for Mataro in a generally very strong year at the site, and the variety makes up over 30% of the blend.
