Transparent yellow. A delightfully complex nose of lime and grapefruit blended with herbs such as boxwood. Citrus and herb notes reappear on the palate. A fresh, bright, and pleasing wine with nicely balanced acidity and good persistence.
The 2012 Maya is powerful, dense, but beautifully balanced and precise. Each of the varieties delivers its best attributes—dark brambly fruit and a silky, expansive palate impression from the cabernet sauvignon, and exotic spice notes and power from the cabernet franc.
The 2011 Encosta is an inky purple wine. A very full bodies wine of fully ripe lush black & red fruits such as Bing cherry, black currants, and black plum dominate the aromatics and flavors. Secondary aromatics of dried tobacco, hot volcanic rock, and purple flowers are on full display.
Inspired by the traditional drink of Spain, [yellow tail] Sangria combines a splash of sweet citrus with premium red wine. The aroma is perfumed and enticing with orange rind, citrus, and red-berry notes that splashes onto the palate with a soft sweet-citrus flavor and hints of spirit.
Intrigu is only aged in stainless steel for 6 months, followed by 3 months in bottle, which allows for a transparent presentation of the grape. On the nose there are aromas of balsamic, clove, violets, and black pepper.
A single varietal (100 percent) Tempranillo. Its grapes are from Cenicero. They are destemmed and pressed with new fermentation control technology and long maceration periods.
The wine is dark garnet color with purple highlights. The wine aroma is dominated by shades of black currant, highlighted by notes of cherry and blackberry. The wine has a balanced taste, it can be traced combination of fruit and black berries.
Stéphane Usseglio, son of Raymond, has taken over the domaine in the last few years and he is pushing to reach the potential of the family’s holdings, some of he best of Châteauneuf. Half his vines are situated near the road in the lieu-dit “La Crau” and the other half on the hill across the road from the actual ruins of the new castle of the Pope.
The 2015 Screaming Eagle Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of the most prestiguos appelations in the United States. From Oakville Californiawas grown on 2 acres at the Screaming Eagle Vineyards and only 600 bottles were produced.
This small-production bottling has been hand-selected by Jon-David Headrick for its expression of terroir and unique character.
