Cantine Lento Greco 2013
Pale straw color. A balanced nose with notes of ripe apricot and hints of citrus and apple. Harmonious palate with a fresh acidity followed by a delicately fruity aftertaste. It is distinguished by a strong personality and a distinct varietal character.
Cantine Lento, established in 1972, owns a cultivated area of over 247 acres, divided into three estates: Tenuta Romeo, Tenuta Villa Caracciolo (PDO Lamezia), and Tenuta Galati (Calabrian PGI). In these estates, distinct from each other by location and the variety of grapes grown, the main cultivation operations are performed manually. These factors, associated with the vineyards' southern exposure, an excellent temperature range between day and night, and the location in a natural amphitheater, allow ideal conditions for obtaining a perfect ripening of the grapes and therefore wine of great character and personality. Also the peculiarity of the autochthonous varieties, magliocco, white and black greco, nerello, and malvasia together with the prestige of international varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and merlot allow Cantine Lento to offer a wide range of selected wines. This variety, a mirror of the culture and the very essence of the Mediterranean, meets its truest and original expression in a terroir characterized by a rare landscape, where Cantine Lento's vineyards gives life to a wine that expresses in purity a precise varietal character. Freshness, minerality, and richness of scents are the characteristics that prove their excellence in the production of great Calabrian wines.
