Frederico II is a wine with great qualities and excellent mellowness. Deep garnet-red color. An intense nose with notes of plums, cherries, and blackberries, harmonized by the French oak barriques. It expresses the pulp of the fruit. On the palate, it has a beautiful density, balanced taste, and a great body.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cantine Lento, established in 1972, owns a cultivated area of over 247 acres, divided into three estates: Tenuta Romeo, Tenuta Villa Caracciolo (PDO Lamezia), and Tenuta Galati (Calabrian PGI). In these estates, distinct from each other by location and the variety of grapes grown, the main cultivation operations are performed manually. These factors, associated with the vineyards' southern exposure, an excellent temperature range between day and night, and the location in a natural amphitheater, allow ideal conditions for obtaining a perfect ripening of the grapes and therefore wine of great character and personality. Also the peculiarity of the autochthonous varieties, magliocco, white and black greco, nerello, and malvasia together with the prestige of international varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and merlot allow Cantine Lento to offer a wide range of selected wines. Emperor Frederico II, unites within himself the power of battle, the prestige of culture, and an incredible foresight. This wine is dedicated to him. It is the perfect synthesis of these three noble attributes contained in just one grape, the guardian of the secret of a great land—a land between two seas and a mirror of the same Mediterranean Sea.
