Borie-Manoux Beau-Rivage Rouge 2010
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc. A lovely juicy Bordeaux for every day. Blend based on cabernet sauvignon and merlot. A wine with lots of fruit in the form of black currants, blackberries and some cherries. Also a subtle spiciness. Medium bodied, juicy and very accessible.
Borie-Manoux is a family-owned and family-run winery and negociant house in Bordeaux founded in 1870 under the name of Eugene Borie Freres. The name changed to Borie-Manoux after World War II during the separation of Francis and Marcel Borie, with the negociant house returned to the latter. At the same time, Marcel Borie decided to move Manoux-Borie from Pauillac to Bordeaux and established the Balguerie-Stuttenberg headquarters. Today, the Borie family owns more than ten chateaus in Bordeaux all managed by Philippe Casteja, Marcel Borie's grandson. Beau-Rivage ("beautiful shore") is a tribute to the picturesque landscape along the Gironde (and the rivers that feed it), Dordogne, and Garonne. During the ice ages, these rivers created the gravelly soils Bordeaux is famous for; soils that produce some of the world's finest wine. Beau-Rivage is also one of the oldest, worldwide Bordeaux brands and has been Borie-Manoux' Bordeaux quality-reference and exclusivity for more than sixty years.
