Bodegas Torres Sangre de Toro Garnacha 2012
In 1954, Miguel A. Torres' father, Miguel Torres, was already seeking out the most-prized grapes of the region to create a different wine that would express the authentic character of the land. This led to the birth of the "sangre de Toro," whose name is inspired by Bacchus, Roman god of wine, known in ancient times as "Son of the Bull." Perfect with stews, game, meat, paellas, and the most-traditional mountain cuisine. Serve at 64 degrees F.
Founded in 1870 by Jaime Torres, Bodegas Torres (Miguel Torres SA) is a historical wine-growing company located in Pacs del Penedes, some 2.5 miles from Vilafranca del Penedes, where the company has its head office. Torres is the family winery with the most extensive vineyards in the Denomination of Origin (DO) of Penedes and the largest winery in Spain. They also run the Miguel Torres Chile winery in Chile's Central Valley and the Marimar Estate in the United States (California), founded by Marimar Torres in 1986.
