Deep ruby red with a purple rim in color. Fruity (fruits of the forest) and slightly spicy aromas. Has good tannic structure when young; it becomes quite smooth, almost velvety, when aged. Enjoy it with red meat of various types and game, mature cheese except blue cheese.
It is located in Bastia on the Albenga plain where we grow herbs, but it runs along the valley of the river Arroscia up to Ranzo on the high slopes of Imperia, where you will find the winery's vineyards and olive groves. The use of pesticides, fertilizers and suchlike chemical products is not part of their local tradition so they have just carried on as they did in the past. Organic farming is not a technical or economical choice: it is simply a question of culture. It is the perception of what they are doing, and mainly publicised by word-of-mouth, that has allowed them to occupy a significant place in high-quality production within their area and beyond.
