Beringer acquired Knights Valley vineyards in 1961, as the first winery to recognize the great potential of this region for growing Bordeaux varietals. Over the last five decades, the Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet has found many devoted followers. Winemaker. Laurie Hook has worked the Knights Valley vineyards for two decades, watching the vineyards evolve and noting which blocks and rows are particularly unique.
In 1875 the Beringer brothers, Jacob and Frederick, came to Napa Valley from Germany with the goal of making wines that compared to the best in Europe. They established Beringer Vineyards in 1876 and began making world-class wines from this previously undiscovered region. Since then, Beringer has built a remarkable winemaking history and legacy crafting renowned wines from a prized collection of Napa Valley vineyards, celebrating the uniqueness of each site.
