Beringer Merlot Napa Valley 2014

Kept in separate small lots until the final blending, the grapes for our Merlot were picked, quickly brought to the winery and placed in small stainless steel tanks for a 2-day cold soak designed to extract color and flavor from the grapes. The 2013 Merlot has lush red and blue fruits highlighted by hints of toffee, dark cherry and chocolate mint. This fleshy wine offers dark plum, black currant and mocha notes accented by fine tannins. In 1875 the Beringer brothers, Jacob and Frederick, came to Napa Valley from Germany with the goal of making wines that compared to the best in Europe. They established Beringer Vineyards in 1876 and began making world-class wines from this previously undiscovered region. Since then, Beringer has built a remarkable winemaking history and legacy crafting renowned wines from a prized collection of Napa Valley vineyards, celebrating the uniqueness of each site. As the longest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley, Beringer offers a trusted name and established record of quality.
