Beckmen Vineyards Cuvee Le Bec 2008
Founded in 1994 by Tom and Steve Beckmen, Beckmen Vineyards is a family-run, estate winery located in Santa Barbara County's Santa Ynez Valley. The Beckmens also purchased a spectacular, unplanted 365-acre Santa Ynez Valley ranch in 1996. Naming it Purisima Mountain Vineyard, Tom and Steve began a meticulous planting process designed to maintain the natural diversity of the site. Since its founding, Beckmen Vineyards has emerged as one of North America's premier producers of Rhone varietal wines, while also helping to establish Santa Barbara County as one of California's most highly regarded winegrowing regions. All of Beckmen's wines are 100% estate grown, produced, and bottled.
51% Grenache, 27% Syrah, 16% Mourvedre, 6% Counoise. Aromas of blackberry, grenadine, blueberry, and smoke with hints of herbs de Provence and cured meats. Opulent flavors in the mouth of grenadine, raspberry, and strawberry rhubarb lead to mid-palate flavors of red licorice and lavender, combined with great weight and texture. On the finish, big sweet tannins combine with cherry flavors and well-balanced acidity. Pair with shepard's pie, chicken with stir fry vegetables, roasted pheasant, or corned beef.
