One of the winemaker's biggest challenges is the selection of a region of each grape variety. The journey to discover the best region for each variety has led to this Special Reserve series of wines. The grapes for this Special Reserve Chardonnay were grown in the Jerusalem Hills region on rocky soil with cool nighttime temperatures. The wine was aged in oak barrels for six months until the fruit flavors were integrated with the oak aromas, resulting in a rich, harmonious, and elegant wine.
100% Chardonnay. Barkan Winery was founded in 1990 by Yair Lerner and Shmuel Boxer. They immediately set forth on a program of modernization and the planting of vineyards in and around Barkan, which they saw as the key to the production of fine wine and expansion of the company. In 2000, a state-of-the-art, modern winery was built in Kibbutz Hulda. This location was chosen because for its proximity to the vineyards of Hulda as well as its central location, close to major roads and removed from urban areas.
