Inspired by a stone carving of these horses, Avante pays homage to the wild rivers that carved their paths into the rugged mountains of Northern Spain. Aromas of sweet and spicy wildflowers compliement the bright, fresh raspberry and dark-cherry flavors. This balance of spiciness and fruit is carried through to the long, elegant finish.
100% Mencia. Bottled by Bodegas Triton (AKA Bodegas Tridente). The facilities of Bodegas Tridente are placed in Villanueva de Campean, 18.5 miles south from Zamora, in the center of the so-called Land of The Wine. The small-sized winery was designed for the small production of red grapes, especially those from the tinta de Toro variety which are indigenous to the land and has a tradition in the region. They also produce wines from prieto picudo and mencia grapes, coming from old, low-production vineyards in the Bierzo and Leon regions.
