AVAN Nacimiento 2012
Intense cherry red color, practically opaque-violet edge that shows its great youth and especially the wine's aging potential. In the nose it is happy, cheerful, and fun. A set of predominating background aromas and a very intense and persistent aroma. On the palate it is tasty like a ripe fruit and refreshing with a great balance and freshness.
100% Tempranillo. Produced and bottled by Bodegas y Vinyedos Juan Manuel Burgos, founded in 1999 with 20 acres of tempranillo vines in Fuentelcesped, in the eastern end of Ribero del Duero. AVAN is NAVA written back to front. Nava is the name of the river passing through Fuentelcesped, a vineyard parcel famous for its grapes, and also the patron saint of Fuentelcesped (Virgen de Nava). AVAN decided not to use the terms of "crianza", "reserva," etc. used by the regulatory council, because they wanted to give their wines the extra time of maturation that is needed.
