Alexander Winery Syrah 2010
The wine has a deep red color with a shiny black tint. It has aromas of red and blackberries, intertwined with notes of black pepper and spice. The body is full with complex but elegant tannins. The final taste is long and pleasing. Pair with lamb or duck breast dishes, as well as with rich savory hard cheeses. This is an elegant wine which will age well.
86% Syrah, 7% Mourvedre, 7% Grenache. The traditional Tunisian jewelry depicted on the main label reflects the origins of Alexander Shalom. This wine is a blend of syrah, mourvedre, and grenache grapes from a vineyard planted 2,264 feet above sea level in Ein Seter, Mitzpeh Hayamim mountain in Upper Galilee. Low yield, strict growing regime, state-of-the-art agrotechnology, and controlled irrigation resulted in top-quality grapes from which concentrated flavors and aromas were extracted. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels.
