Alexander Winery Reserve Gaston 2010
A rounded and stable wine, with an opaque black color and purplish borders. Excellent woody and fruity aroma. The tannins are noticeable and very pleasant. The wine has a firm, full body and a complex finishing. Pair with Far-Eastern flavored dishes, fish, and roasted- or herb-baked chicken. An elegant wine that will improve over the years.
40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. The traditional Tunisian jewelry depicted on the main label reflects the origins of Alexander Shalom. This red wine is produced from Alexander Winery's best vineyards. The vineyards are situated at 2,264 feet above sea level on Mt. Mitzpe Yamim at Ein Setter, close to Kfar Shamai in the Upper Galilee. The grapes are picked at dawn and carefully sorted and the selected bunches of grapes are then sent to the winemaking process. The wine is matured in 70% French / 30% American oak barrels for a period of 24 months. The blend requires 90 days preparation before bottling.
