The aromas are perfumed, peppery, spicy, smoky, and exhibit ripe red-fruit notes. As always the palate texture of this style of wine is supple, smooth on the entry but with enough grip to end dry and refreshing. In the mouth the texture and fineness of fruit tannin and drinkability of the wine is immediately evident. This wine can be enjoyed now or with careful cellaring over the next couple of years. One only needs to glance briefly through the notes of Jancis Robinson, Robert Parker, Andrew Jefford and David Schildknecht (among many others) to discover their love affair with the Languedoc. And by that, we mean head-over-heels, butterflies-in-the-stomach kind of love. We have had affection for the region since the humble beginnings of European Cellars when our motto was “unknown…and unsold” – an affection that remains as exciting to us today as it did 25 years ago. Made with 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Cinsault. On the nose the wine is full of sweet fruits, ripe juicy black cherries and deep red plums, set against a wonderful, warm spiciness of liquorice and tobacco. In the mouth, it’s dry, with excellent body that really delivers on the dark fruit. Learn More

The Cotes du Rhone comes from a 20-acre vineyard adjacent to the Chateaneuf-du-Pape vineyards belonging to Domaine de la Janasse. This wine is concentrated with aromas reminiscent of the herbs of Provence. Featuring a beautiful structure, this Cotes-du-Rhone develops notes of fresh fruit (crushed strawberry, blackberry) on crisp, supported by a hint of liquorice. Moderately tannic, this wine retains its gluttony on grilled meat or fresh tomatoes pie. Drink within the next five years. Learn More

An old vines bottling made entirely from the Cinsault grape variety. The fruit is pure, intense with dark berried aromas and a tannic structure that makes it an ideal pairing with meat dishes - think grilled lamb chops. Domaine des Tourelles began making wine in the late 1800s. The estate was started by a Frenchman, François-Eugène Brun. Today, this property is one of the finest boutique estates around in the Bekaa Valley. Learn More

An amazing red wine. This wine from the south of France comes from limestone and schist soils and is near the Fitou area in upper Corbières. Solid ruby in color yet light-handed with body and texture reminiscent of Beaujolais, which makes sense because the vigneron, a young man named Maxime Magnon, studied with Foillard, one of the great Morgon winemakers.
