Barkan Classic Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown at the winery's vineyards in the center of Israel. The vines yield small crops and ripen early. Hand picked in small containers, the grapes are rushed to the winery to ensure maximum quality. One of the winemaker's biggest challenges is the selection of a region of each grape variety. The journey to discover the best region for each variety has led to this Special Reserve series of wines. The grapes for this Special Reserve Chardonnay were grown in the Jerusalem Hills region on rocky soil with cool nighttime temperatures.
