The Boxler family has Swiss roots that go back to the 1600s, when they immigrated to Alsace. I have no idea whether those roots are connected to their being one of the only Alsatian domaines to cultivate this Swiss variety. Usually blended into their Edelzwicker, here is a chance to experience Chasselas pure, Boxler-style. Learn More

This 2013 year a blend of Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer, Boxler’s Edelzwicker is a kaleidoscope of the flavors, aromas, and textures of Alsace—presented, of course, in the inimitable house style. Fresh aromas of white flowers, lemon-lime blossoms and lychee. It has mouthwatering acidity, light to medium bodied with wonderful floral notes in the palate. Learn More

The Brand vineyard is most renowned for its Riesling, and Boxler’s combination of granite and Riesling is electric, spicy, and profound. It sends chills up at least one person’s spine: mine. Hold for at least five years before drinking. Learn More

Jean Boxler, many generations removed from his ancestor of the same name that moved here from Switzerland in 1673, currently rules the roost at this humble yet incredibly exciting domaine. Intense and serious about his land, his craft, and his wine, Jean is the genius behind what are certainly some of the finest white wines in Alsace. Learn More

The nose shows typical limestone influence, with nice nutty, toasty and slight mineral hints. The palate is powerful and dense and aeration brings out some honey character as well as ripe fruits. The finish is quite velvety. Learn More

The white wines of Alsace, named after their grape varietal—and not their place of origin—are another world altogether: mostly light to medium-bodied, mouthwatering and will accompany fish, simple roasted chicken and vegetable dishes wonderfully. Learn More

This is full of noble wine that presents a lot of stuff, a wonderful roundness sometimes up to a slightly soft opulence, but always supported by good freshness. It is the balance of power makes it so attractive. Learn More

In addition to the Brand vineyards, Domaine Francois Baur makes fine wines from the Herrenweg vineyards. Learn More
