Topanga Syrah 2012

Ripe fruit, and oak that complements, rather than dominates the flavor, with soft tanins, well balanced acidity and lots of spice. White pepper and violets dominate the aroma. The wine exhibits quite a bit of white pepper character. Great with braised short ribs, air dryed and salted roast chicken, BBQ’ed anything.

Just 3 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and the quaint town of Pismo Beach, Spanish Springs Vineyard produces exceptional fruit in a very unique micro-climate. The close proximity to the ocean provides a constant “cooling” and long growing season, while the southern facing slopes allow the fruit to fully mature. This ideal combination produces ripe fruit, with well balanced sugar and acid levels. This is the coolest growing region defined by UC Davis.
